Sweet Tamarind /Ganga Imli (Chhattisgarh Food Information)

Pithecellobium dulce or Ganga Imli -This beautiful green and pink fruit is very common in chhattisgarh during summer.It has many names like Goras Amli or Dakhani Babul . Ganga Imli trees are very common in forest in Chhattisgarh as well as rural areas.
















Ganga Imli (Sweet Tamarind) has lots of medicinal properties for constipation,sore throat,burns,anorexia and brain stroke.

Roth/रोठ

Roth: Healthy Wheat Recipes

Ingredients:
Wheat Flour
Jaggery
Ghee
water


1. Take 1 bowl of Wheat flour.
2. Drop 2 table spoons of Ghee.

3. Sprinkle 1 bowl of jaggery powder in it.

4.Pour little water and start kneading it .

5.Prefer making a little hard dough .

6. Now, break the dough into small balls and start giving shapes of round, cylindrical or small chapati.

7. Traditionally Roth is used for "prasad"(offering to Lord Hanuman) ,so we use Ghee (considered good for rituals) for semi frying.

8. Take a pan and put on the stove .Once it becomes hot put 2-3 small spoons of ghee and start frying the Roth .Let it fry all sides and once it turns brown, take it out.

एक कटोरी आटा लें।  उसमें २ छोटे चमच्च घी मिलाएं।  अब १ कटोरी गुड़ का पाउडर मिलाएं।  अब थोड़ा पानी डाल कर गूँथ लें।  कोशिश करें कि आटा कड़ा गुंथे।  अब आटे की छोटी छोटी लोई को गोल,चपटे या फिर छोटी रोटी की तरह आकर देना शुरू करे।  रोठ को प्रसाद (हनुमान जी का पसंदीदा चढ़ाव ) की तरह चढ़ाया जाता है इसलिए पारम्परिक रूप से घी में तला या सेंका जाता है।
एक तवा या कड़ाई लें और अच्छी तरह से गरम करें।  अब २-३ छोटे चमच्च डाल कर सेंकना शुरू करें।  जब दोनों तरफ भूरा हो जाएँ तो बहार निकल लें।
रोठ बहुत पौष्टिक मिठाई है और आटा ,घी और गुड़ की खूबियों से भरपूर होता है।
