Most of the traditional and tribe foods are made by rice and rice flour , curd(number of veg kadis) and variety of leaves like lal bhaji,chech bhaji ,kohda , bohar bhaji. Badi and Bijori are optional food categories also Gulgula ,pidiya ,dhoodh fara,balooshahi ,khurmi falls in sweet categories.

Bore Baasi /बोरे बासी (chhattisgarh food information)


Bore baasi :

In Chhattisgarh, there is tradition to soak remaining cooked rice in the night. Next morning the whole family have it in breakfast. This is the way to preserve & reuse cooked rice for longer hrs. Baasi is very heavy breakfast and before consumption one should add salt in it. Tomato chutney, chech bhaaji , pickle or buttermilk are the best partners of baasi.In summer, baasi cools the body. Orissa, Bengal are the few states where traditionally baasi are consumed by another name.

छत्तीसगढ़ में रात को पके हुए चावंल को डूबा कर रखने की परंपरा है।  अगली सुबह  परिवार के सभी लोग इसे नाश्ते के रूप में खाते हैं।  यह खाने को रात भर सुरक्षित रखने और व्यर्थ होने से बचने का एक तरीका है।  बासी एक भारी नाश्ता है जो की ज्यादा ताकत के लिए खेतो में काम करने या ज्यादा म्हणत करने वाले लोगों द्वारा विशेष रूप से पसंद किया जाता है। बासी में नमक डाल कर आचार ,भाजी,टमाटर की चटनी या फिर मठा के साथ खाया जाता है।  यह गर्मियों में शरीर को ठंडक देता है। ओरिसा ,बंगाल जैसे और भी राज्यों में यह अलग अलग नामो से जाना जाता है।
